One-Month Professional Itinerary in Kenya: Volunteering and Safari Adventures



Week 1: Nairobi and Surroundings

Monday – Thursday: Volunteering
Morning: Teaching English or French , mathematics at a community school in Nairobi.
Afternoon: Participating in various community projects, such as environmental conservation or playing and coaching football or basketball ,tennis etc.

Friday: Nairobi National Park

Morning: Early morning game drive in Nairobi National Park. Experience the unique sight of wildlife against the backdrop of Nairobi’s skyline.
Afternoon: Visit the Karen Blixen Museum to learn about the life of the author of “Out of Africa.”
Evening: Visit the Giraffe Centre to feed and learn about endangered Rothschild giraffes.

Saturday: Animal Encounters

Morning: Visit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage) to see baby elephants during their feeding time.
Afternoon: Explore the Nairobi Animal Orphanage to learn about rescued wildlife.

Sunday: Relaxation and Preparation

Morning: Leisure time to relax or explore Nairobi.
Afternoon: Preparation for the upcoming week of volunteering.


Week 2: Masai Mara Safari

Monday Thursday: Volunteering

– Continue teaching and participating in community projects in Nairobi.

FridaySunday: Masai Mara Safari

Friday Morning: Depart for Masai Mara. Arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive.
Saturday: Full day of game drives in the Masai Mara. Witness the Great Migration and spot the Big Five.
Sunday: Morning game drive, followed by a visit to a local Maasai village. Return to Nairobi in the afternoon.

Week 3: Ol Pejeta Conservancy

MondayThursday: Volunteering

– Continue teaching and participating in community projects in Nairobi.

Friday – Sunday: Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Friday Morning: Depart for Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive.
Saturday: Full day exploring Ol Pejeta, including visits to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary and the Endangered Species Boma.
Sunday: Morning game drive, followed by a leisurely return to Nairobi.

Week 4: Mombasa Safari

MondayThursday: Volunteering

– Continue teaching and participating in community projects in Nairobi.

Friday – Sunday: Mombasa Safari

Friday Morning: Depart for Mombasa. Arrive and check into your accommodation. Afternoon visit to Haller Park.
Saturday: Full day exploring the coastal wildlife, including a visit to Shimba Hills National Reserve.
Sunday: Morning at the beach or exploring Old Town Mombasa. Afternoon return to Nairobi.

Important Additional Notes:
